"Very professional, caring staff"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Emergency Surgical Unit (EMSU)

(as a service user),

I was admitted for a Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy in EMSU, Antrim Area Hospital. The nursing staff here are exemplary, many thanks to Rebekah for all the care and attention she gave.

I was then taken down to theatres and the team there put me at ease right away as I was very nervous, many thanks to the two staff nurses in theatre with Mr Eltayeb, who performed my surgery, he is an absolute gentleman and came to see me before I went down to theatre.

In recovery the nurses were so attentive and as I was very nauseous after my GA they were able to get my sickness under control, they are such a nice bunch of nurses who show so much care and empathy.

I was then taken to PACU, where I stayed after my procedure overnight and a big thanks to Mariana and the other nurse who tended to me through the night, I never had to prompt for any pain relief and made sure I was well fed and watered.

Many thanks to all the staff from admission through to discharge as they were all very professional, caring staff who got me through my surgery.
