"My Mum's care"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Ward A7 Care Of the Elderly

(as a relative),

My Mum was admitted to ward A7 in mid January from A&E, it was late at night we were met by Kevin Nurse and Tracey senior nursing assistant, they thoroughly checked Mum over, brought me and my 2 Sisters recliners as we chose to stay, Mum was transferred to a single room, we were told we could visit any time but we chose to stay and be there for Mum, Mum's treatment was amazing by all who cared for her she was treated with respect and dignity, staff went above and beyond for us also, reclining chairs were available at night, tea toast, I do feel they were extremely understaffed but their care didn't slip. I am glad my sisters and myself were in the position to be able to stay, as we got to spend mum's last precious days with her, sadly she passed away with dignity with us by her side, we would like to thank all the staff especially Kevin and Tracey
