I attended Wishaw General Hospital after phoning maternity triage with some concerns. I was advised to go to A&E due to some of my symptoms.
It was very busy and the reception staff were run off their feet. They were all incredibly helpful and efficient and nothing was a hassle for them. A queue began to build up at reception with patients and they worked like clockwork to get through everyone and guide them further.
Once sat down I waited about an hour before seeing the triage nurse and clinical support worker. I missed their names however again they were amazing. Efficient, informative, quick and positive. I then waited outside to meet the dr.
After waiting, I saw the dr who again I did not catch their name however I only have high praises for him too. The care he gave myself was undoubtedly kind.
After doing his checks he sent a midwife and a student down to the A&E department to check on baby. The only name I managed to get was midwife Aimee. She was with a student midwife also. Maternity triage was full and busy and they still made the time to come down and check on me in A&E. I didn’t feel rushed and they did their complete checks with consideration. Their approach was calm, informative, efficient. Again nothing was a bother for them.
To conclude, each and every staff member I spoke to should be extremely proud of themselves. They are an asset to the NHS. They were working under extremely busy and stressful conditions and gave me nothing but the best care. Thank you so much to them all. I hope this message is passed over to them.
