"Helpful staff"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I was sent to A&E at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by my GP on Tuesday.

I was brought up to POD E and the staff were so lovely. The staff nurse I think is called Liam he was coordinating pod e that day but he got me some pain relief whilst I waited for the doctor to review me and chatted about what has been going on but he was so understanding.

I then met with Sheryl one of the EMERGE research nurses who explained the research study thoroughly and I agreed to be involved. I was seen by a doctor who was nice but I realised it wasn’t a pain we were going to get an answer for today so the doctor arranged some morphine and antisickness to get me a bit more comfortable.

The nurses always checked in with me to see how I was feeling and asked if I needed anything. A&E was quite busy that day but every staff member I met was lovely and gave reassurance that if things become unmanageable again to contact 111 or go back to A&E.

Kind regards
