I was told to come to the appointment by a pharmacist that told me I had an allergic reaction to the prescribed medication, and that a new itchy raised patch on my face was worrying and needed looking at. I was told the complaint I was being treated for was just cosmetic, turning back the valuable prior conversation I had had about it with the doctor. Then she started trying to 'treat' me for my natural skin tone, telling me it was rosacea, it is not, is just what I look like. Of course my whole life I have been insecure about it, so it's very sensitive but having an argument with someone at the doctor's trying to tell me that there's something wrong with my face is just really horrible. I'm sorry to be dramatic, clearly I'm venting, but I just need to know if I go to the doctor's I will be informed by a doctor 'this time you are a timewaster, we will not see you' rather than made to engage with this, it's really upsetting. I know I will come back to the surgery because I don't see that I have much choice, but I'm feeling very bad about it. tment with someone that isn't a nurse, doctor or pharmacist.
