My father suddenly took unwell. We had to call an ambulance for him as he was unable to mobilise. The ambulance arrived within 10 minutes. The paramedics (Lauren &Jane) and student paramedic (think it was Ellie) were wonderful. They provided spectacular care for my Dad and were fantastic providing my Mum with reassurance. They treated my Dad with the utmost care and with dignity.
This high standard of care continued whilst he was in ED and later in MAU. Nothing was too much bother for the staff in ED. Caitlin , Naomi and Sharon treated my Dad with respect and made him feel comfortable and reassured. We were reassured that he was recieving excellent care and that the staff were motivated to discover what was going on with my Dad.
My Dad has Alzheimer's and will say/ask the same thing repeatedly, the staff all interacted superbly with him. My Brother came over from Northern Ireland. The BGH outshone itself in his eyes.
He was transferred to MAU. Again the staff on the phone and in person were most welcoming and friendly. He was only there for a short while but I felt that all the staff knew and cared for my Dad's well being. The charge nurse Jane offered invaluable support and guidance.
Thank you to all the staff involved. I am proud to be associated with superb colleagues. Dad is now home and recovering well.
"Amazing care and service start to finish at BGH"
