"I would give everyone involved top marks"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

After getting my poo test sent out me I returned it and was phoned just a few days later by a lovely lady who took her time to explain that it was required that I receive a colonoscopy, she went on to discuss all aspects of what I could expect.

She didn’t rush any part of the explanation and went over my medical history. Then told me I would be in for the procedure within a week.

A letter duly arrived to confirm all that we had discussed and were to report to.

On the day of the procedure from the receptionist to the nurses and the doctor made me very relaxed and again explained everything that was about to happen.

As for the colonoscopy I was given the choice of gas and air or getting a cannula fitted to your arm to allow sedation to be administered along with pain relief.

The procedure went well with no real discomfort to speak of and the staff made it all very easy.

In recovery again all straight forward with lovey tea and toast, perfect end to the time in the hospital.

I would give everyone involved in my care at the Queen Margaret hospital in Dunfermline top marks and praise them all for the care I was given.

Thank you all.

Dear Lynn s

Many thanks for your kind words regarding your recent visit to our Regional Endoscopy Unit at Queen Margaret Hospital via the Bowel Screening Programme.

From your initial contact over the phone to coming in and getting your procedure done, you felt everything had been explained to you in a clear and reassuring manner.

You appreciated the choice of medicine during the procedure and opted for the sedation which helped get through the colonoscopy with ease.

The tea and toast is always appreciated at the end of your visit.

I will pass on your kind words to all of the team here at Queen Margaret Hospital.

kind regards

Yvonne Bernard
