My Granny is in her 90s and was admitted to Ninewells hospital’s Acute Frailty Unit (AFU) after becoming very unwell at home. Huge shout out to the two SAS paramedics who assessed and referred her to NWs when time was a priority. You safely cared for and transported her on the night she was admitted. Your patience, kindness and compassion was heartfelt and much appreciated - thank you.

To the nurses and doctors who looked after my Granny in AFU when she was so unwell, we cannot thank you enough for the timely care you delivered and for keeping her safe. We were extremely concerned about her and you took the time to update us at every point. Special acknowledgement to the Med Reg who called us late that night to update us on her condition. SCN Cunningham and your team, you are all fabulous and thank you for caring for my Granny.

To the doctors and nurses on ward 16 in particular Dr Martin, RNs Marco and Ursa, we cannot thank you enough for the high standard of person centred care you delivered to my Granny during her stay with you. You took the time to ensure she was safely cared for and that she was well enough to return home to us. Your efforts to communicate with us in a timely manner have been absolutely outstanding. SCN Lonie and your team we cannot thank you enough for your patience and care. We are truly grateful to you all, thank you.

My Granny is currently sitting at home, safe and sound enjoying her cuppa tea and biscuits whilst watching her afternoon TV programmes.

She wouldn’t be with us if it weren’t for each and every single person and service involved in delivering her care.

A massive thanks from my Granny and her 10-yr-old nephew, who loves playing dominoes with her and is extremely proud to have a 90 year old Granny. Quietly, he would like to see her reach 100 years of age so she can receive a card from the King.

Special thanks from my Granny and her family.

Hi blackbirdtn49,

I'm really sorry to hear that your gran had to be admitted recently. I hope she's doing ok and back to being able to play dominoes with her grandson again (and beating him hopefully!)

I'll leave my colleagues from NHS Tayside to come back on your wider comments but I just wanted to thank you for your really kind and positive feedback about our staff at the Scottish Ambulance Service. That is great to hear and our staff will be delighted to read this.

It is always really nice when patients and their families take the time to reach out to tell us about their experience and to say thank you. It is much appreciated.

Please pass on our very best wishes to your gran.

Thanks again,

Mark

Dear blackbirdtn49

Thank you for taking the time to contact us and share your experience of your gran's admission to hospital. I'm sorry to hear she was unwell and required hospital treatment but pleased to learn she is now recovered and doing well back home.

I'll share your kind comments with the ward 16 team and SCN Lonie. Feedback is always welcome and the team will appreciate being recognised for the hard work they do each day.

Thank you again and I hope your gran continues to recover well.
