"We could not have asked for better care"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Cardiac surgery

(as a relative),

This was absolutely first class, from the surgeon right down to the cleaners, they were all brilliant.  My husband had a heart bypass and valves expanded.  He is now having physiotherapy.  They were all so very kind and caring and we could not have asked for better care.

Good morning capricornuskg67

My Name is Una Delargy, Business Support Officer for Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.

Thank you for taking the time to communicate with us through Care Opinion. This is a really useful tool for us to share experiences and learning with patients so that we can hear about your treatment and care and continue to strive to provide the best possible care for all our patients.

First of all, I am delighted that your husband is recovering well from his heart bypass and valve surgery and has received such excellent care from all medical and ancillary staff in the cardiac unit.

We welcome these very positive comments as it is great not only for all staff to feel appreciated but also extremely encouraging for them to be acknowledged for making a profound difference to our patients during their treatment and hospital stay.

Finally, I would like to wish your husband a full continued recovery and once again thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

Take Care & Best Wishes

Una

Good evening capricornuskg67,

My name is Caroline O'Neill and I am the Lead Nurse in the Cardiac Surgical ICU.

Thank you for sharing your kind feedback and for highlighting in particular the strengths of the team, which meant so much to your husband and yourself. It is great to hear how everyone in the wider team helped to make this a positive experience following your husband's heart surgery. We appreciate that this is a daunting time for patients and their families and it is very rewarding for the team to hear the care they provide described as 'first class'.

I hope your husband has a continued positive recovery and thankyou again for taking the time to share your experience.

Caroline
