"Emergency dental treatment"

About: Ayrshire Central Hospital / Orthodontics

(as a service user),

I went for emergency dental treatment to both sides of my mouth.  I wasn't expecting treatment as was I was told when booking it that it was a quick appointment and treatment would be to tide me over until I could register with a dentist.

However, they extracted one tooth and provided a temporary filling for the other tooth.

I am in my 50s and have been going through a difficult time.  Unfortunately,  I didn't get the dentist's name or the dental nurse.  Both were female and they provided the gentlest treatment I've ever had in over 1/2 a century.

They were so lovely, kind and empathic. I felt safe and in good hands in spite of having significant anxiety and CPTSD

Dear Hapxm33

Thank you for taking the time to share this lovely feedback about the care provided by the Community Dental Services within Ayrshire Central Hospital.

I am sorry to learn that you recently required emergency detail treatment to both sides of your mouth. I am however, glad to hear that the dentist and dental nurse you saw were able to treat you in a kind, empathetic and gentle way and that they were able to put you at ease during your appointment, resulting in a positive experience for you. This is a lovely example of the patient centred care that we strive to provide.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and it will be my pleasure to share your kind words with the Community Dental Team. I know they will be delighted to receive this feedback and it will be really encouraging for them to know that you felt so well supported.

Please accept my best wishes and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
