"Sore hand after a fall"

I fell while on holiday resulting in a badly bruised face and left hand. After I was home for a few days my hand wasn’t getting any better so I decided to visit the minor injuries department at our local hospital. I didn’t realise that I was supposed to contact my GP first but on arrival at the hospital they said they would see me and asked me to fill in a simple form. Shortly after this I was seen and thoroughly examined by a nurse. It was decided that my face was healing well but I would be better to have my hand X-rayed. I waited about five minutes in the X-ray department then I had three X-rays taken of my hand. After about another five minute wait back in the minor injury department I was called in and given the result. Everything was explained to me about what I should do and the treatment I was given. The nurse was extremely patient, helpful and caring. I left feeling that I had been listened to and treated well.
