"6 month follow up... 5 years later"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I recently received my 6 month follow up appointment via telephone from the gynae outpatients, for a surgery I had back in late 2019.

While I'm appreciative that they eventually got back to me, I feel that to receive this 5 years later was borderline comical, but thankfully I've not really had any issues since.

It wasn't the gynaecologist I saw back then that I spoke to, but they made sure that my pain issues weren't still ongoing, they asked if I had any questions or concerns, and advised that since I've moved area, that I can bring up certain concerns with my current health board.

Dear Pax12

Apologies for the delay in responding to your Care Opinion feedback, we do really value all feedback. Thank you on behalf of the Gynaecology Service NHS Tayside for sharing your experience.

I am sorry we fell short of our intention to make contact with you in a timely manner following surgery. I am pleased to read that you have not had any issues of concern following your surgery. I will share your feedback with the Service and hope that we can improve this position for future patients.

Best wishes.

Daisy Brand
