"Treated with respect, compassion and professionalism"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Ophthalmology Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

Saw my GP at Litchdon Medical Centre (Barnstaple) in June 2024 and he immediately referred me to North Devon District Hospital (NDDH). Visited there 4 times before i was then referred by Waleed (thank you) to RD&E Opthalmology (Exeter) in July 2024.

Subsequently visited RD&E 10 times over the period July-April(2025) clocking up almost 1000 miles.

During this period I have been privileged to have seen/used our NHS at its best. Having dealt with numerous members of the staff at RD&E including Shakeel, Poonam and Harry I would like to publicly thank all those involved in solving my problem.

At every visit I was treated with respect, compassion and professionalism, furthermore the final decision, which was mine to make, was based on information and opinion received from the medical team.

Once again, thank you NHS and thank you to RD&E.
