"A Truly Outstanding Experience"

I recently had an ERCP procedure at Blackburn Endoscopy, and I cannot praise the team enough for their exceptional care. My journey wasn’t straightforward—I was transferred urgently from Blackpool after two failed attempts at my local hospital. I was anxious, but from the moment I arrived, I knew I was in good hands.

The kindness started at reception with Ismail, who made me feel welcome despite my nerves. Heather, the admitting nurse, was so reassuring as she went through my details, and the nursing team—Lisa, Rachel, and Megan—were all wonderful, keeping me calm before the procedure.

But the real standout was Dr. Mahesh. I’ve had endoscopies before, but none where the doctor took so much time to explain everything. He sat with me, went through the benefits, risks, and other options in a way I could understand. When I saw the consent form, I was amazed at how detailed it was—nothing like my previous experiences where things felt rushed. It really put my mind at ease.

The procedure itself was a success (thankfully!). My local hospital couldn’t manage it, but Dr. Mahesh and his team did. I remember being a little nervous, but the sedation worked perfectly—I don’t recall a thing! When I woke up in recovery, I was a bit sore, but one of the nurses (I think her name was Revati?) was so attentive, checking on me and making sure I was comfortable.

I was sent back to Blackpool afterward, and within a day, I could feel the difference—my infection had cleared up, all thanks to this procedure. Now that I’m home, I’m just so grateful. I even heard Dr. Mahesh recently won an award, and after my experience, it’s no surprise—he’s a brilliant doctor.

To everyone at Blackburn Endoscopy—thank you. You turned what could have been a stressful experience into a positive one. If I ever need another procedure, I’ll be asking to come back to your wonderful team. Kudos to you all!
