"fabulous health visitor"

About: Health visiting / Angus Health Visiting

(as a parent/guardian),

my first son was a covid lockdown baby, there was staffing issues and we seen a few different health visitors / none during the isolating time.

We met Louise for our son's 4 year review whilst I was also pregnant again. Louise  was fantastic with our son, engaging, interacting at his level, good explanations, kind and patient. I immediately liked her mannerism and professionalism. By explaining rationale behind developmental checks and making it into games , was less like a test/examination. by looking through his redbook she identified that this current pregnancy and early years support and journey should be different / better and well supported.

Due to my named health visitor being off sick she wanted some continuity for my care and agreed to come back for my pre baby check.

luckily we got to keep her as named HV  and I feel we have developed a good bond, understanding and trust.  this is essential for forming a good relationship.

On the birth of my second son Louise couldn't been more supportive and encouraging, actively contacting to arrange appointments.

using and referring to evidence based practice and my wishes helped support me.

I was concerned about ongoing jaundice and struggled to get through to my GP contacting her she got my son referred Into the clinic which happened to be the same day.

louise also checked to make sure I had the 6 week check booked and vaccination appointment , which as great when living on lack of sleep and slightly forgetful !

louise is kind, compassionate, driven, professional and just fantastic overall. a true asset to the health visiting team. speaking with a few of my mum friends about a much more positive experience second time around, they too have louise and share similar feelings and thoughts regarding their care.

can't thank louise enough. has all the NHS values that have given me a positive patient experience  :) x
