"Professionalism and caring attitude to treatment"

About: NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde / Podiatry Services

(as a parent/guardian),

My son has had ongoing pain and inflammation due to an ingrowing toenail. This has been limiting his daily activities since it first manifested in October of last year and despite three previous podiatry interventions, remained very painful and it was decided that a toenail avulsion would be the definitive treatment to resolve this.

I can only praise the care and attention which the two podiatrists (Gordon and I'm sorry, I can't recall your name) took when treating my son who was a very nervous teenager going in to the appointment. They took every care to look after my son and ensure that his toe was properly numb before proceeding.

I'd like to extend my personal thanks and appreciation for the professionalism and caring attitude to treatment shown by the two podiatrists towards my son.

Thanks again!

Dear Fatheroftheteen

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience regarding your son’s recent treatment. We are very sorry to hear that he had been suffering for such a long time with pain and discomfort due to an ingrowing toenail, and we truly hope he is now on the path to a full recovery following the toenail avulsion procedure.

We’re especially pleased to hear that Gordon and his colleague were able to make a positive difference during what must have been a worrying time for both you and your son. It’s heartening to know that their professionalism, care, and thoughtful approach helped put your son at ease and ensured he received the treatment he needed in a supportive environment.

We will ensure that your kind words are shared with the podiatry team, and particularly with Gordon and his colleague, whose name we’ll do our best to identify. Feedback like yours means a great deal to our staff and reminds us of the importance of compassionate care in every patient interaction.

Thank you once again for your thoughtful message. We wish your son a speedy and comfortable recovery and all the best for the future.

Kind regards

Kevin
