I had a fall in the street and was feeling sick and bleeding from leg and arm. Wasn't sure where to go to get help but on advice from hairdresser attended Arbroath Infirmary Minor Injuries Department.
I was advised that normally referral to this department was from from NHS 24 but that they would fill in the necessary paperwork and get a nurse to see me. Although I do not know the receptionist's name, she made me feel at ease and confident that that I was in safe hands and that I was right in attending the centre (as I was concerned that I might be wasting their time).

Reception
The nurse cleaned and dressed my wounds using steristrips to hold the skin in place and made an an appointment for me to return in 2 days time to check that there was no sign of infection.

Treatment

Nurses
When I returned 2 days later it was a different nurse but the treatment was seamless and after checking the wound sites the nurse gave me advice on deep breathing to avoid a chest infection as on first visit I was not aware that that I had injured my breast area. She also made an appointment for me to see the care and treatment centre 3 days later for follow up as this covered the weekend period .The nurses involved were Paul on the initial appointment and Jen on the follow up appointment . The care that they gave me was excellent.
