"Horrendous belligerent service"

About: Spire Southampton Hospital

I found the orthopedic consultant at Spires Southampton Hospital rude, abrasive, and belligerent to the point where I walked out of his office and contacted the NHS to refer me elsewhere. Which they now have. Whether this unacceptable behavior on the part of this hospital is just reserved for NHS referrals and not privately funded patients I cannot say. After waiting months I chose Spires Southampton from the referral list I was sent by the NHS due to it having a very short waiting time whereas other hospitals were far, far longer. In fact the appointment even got brought forward by the hospital and ended up being only a few days later. I thought not to "look a gift horse in the mouth" even though it did seem to me at the time to be to good to be true. In retrospect I have now learned the lesson I should have known all along which we all really know. That is if it appears to be to good to be true it probably is. However I was impatient (as we all get when waiting for treatment) and I jumped at the offer. The long and short of it is now in retrospect I would advise people not to make the same mistake I did did by choosing the Spires hospital based on its very short wait time. To get the real picture I advise checking out the hospitals recent reviews and not only the ones promoted on its website. And equally very importantly also ponder what the reasons could be for the brevity of its waiting time. Otherwise you too might end up being insulted and talked down too by the person you are expected to place your absolute trust in and in whose hands you are expected to place your life in. And then do what I had to do and walk out and go elsewhere. This ends up with a NHS patient waiting even longer by way of having to re-arrange it all. This hospital is abysmal, and I would advise patients to disregard its appearance on the NHS referral list.
