I try to not bother the surgery as much as possible as I know how busy they are. But in doing so I have a collection of health issues including bunion making my big toe numb, back pain, neck pain, can't lose weight, and short term memory issues affecting my job. I contacted the surgery via the online form and the automated triage system said I would be called back in 4-6 weeks. When they did call me back I was on l holiday so my phone was in my bag at the time - I couldn't hear it ringing and missed the call. I've not been called again. So does this mean I have to spend ages completing the online form all over again and wait another 4-6 weeks all over again to receive another phone call? I understand how busy the GPs say they are, but this is not a satisfactory health service by any means. I don't feel safe, or cared for, or valued. Yet if I wish to choose assisted dying to end the pain and suffering (and doubtless save the NHS some money) then I'm not permitted to do that. None of this makes sense. Is there any wonder that A&E and 111 are run off their feet when the local GPs are so elusive and impossible to contact for help. This is not a health service - it's a liability.
