I posted a two star review on 08 January 2014. I'm posting this update because the treatment I received on 22 January 2014 was much improved. My main concern has been in the way patients who arrive at LRI for planned operations are turned away because a bed is not available for their stay. I have learnt that this is a problem in most NHS Hospitals and certainly not unique to LRI. Often, this problem becomes critical at certain times of the year! When I arrived on 22 Januar 2014, I was given the best treatment that anyone could expect from any NHS Hospital. It was clear to me that staff were aware of my previous, non-productive, admission and were determined to put matters right on this second occasion. As a result, I have received my operation (slightly changed procedure from that expected but that is a different issue) and can now move on with my life.
