My daughter has finaly had her teenage booster vaccine after developing an aversion to needles following theHPV vaccine,Which she found painful. She refused to have further injections. She did have attempts to have the booster vaccine over more than 2 years but it would end up with her refusing.
All the nuses have been wonderful. Very patient and understanding with her. I am so relieved she has now had it and that is all her vaccines up to date.
Maybe the HPV vaccine should be the last vaccine to stop this kind of anxiety?
Also i did notice, over the many sessions at clinics that she nearly had tge vaccines and then refused, that when she gave her consent and rhen a nurse kept talking about her anxiety, she would change her mind and say no.
I think fir her it would have been better that as soon as she gave consent, the vaccine shpuld be given asap before she then had time to change her mind again
She had now had the vaccine and i am very grateful.
Many thanks
