"Amazing care"

About: Ards Hospital / Ards Community Inpatient Ward

(as a relative),

My father spent around two and a half months on Grant Ward at Ards Community Hospital. We couldn't be more grateful for the care he received. Everyone was responsive, caring, loving, kind, and thoughtful.

We all visited a lot and there are lots of us! But the staff were always welcoming and friendly, and gave us feedback on my father every time. There was full involvement, even though Dad was in his late nineties and not very responsive they still gave him full care and ensured he always had the best care available.

We wanted to get him home but we felt there was never any pressure from them to get him home and free up a bed. They were always really invested in his and Mum's experience and making it as positive as possible. They were trying to do right by them both at all times.

We'd like to thank everyone who gave Dad such great care. Special thanks to Consultant Rachel, who we really appreciated phoned us when Dad passed. And to Karen who gave us a hug each and every time we visited. And to Grainne, Rebecca, Lyne, Dr Cory, Paula and everyone else. We couldn't be more grateful.

Sister Laura Ferguson and all of the staff on Ards Community Inpatient Ward were saddened to hear the news of your fathers passing.

They felt privileged to be involved in caring for your father and supporting the family where possible any anyway they could.

They are all very touched by your kind words of praise and compliments on the work they do. They appreciated the opportunity to have been able to get to know your father and be part of the team caring for him and supporting all of you as a family in some small way.

They thank you and your family for your amazing generous gifts to the staff and the ward.

We all thank you so much for taking the time to complete this positive feed back as it lifts staff morale and it helps to let us know the high standard of care we are providing in the Ward for our patients.
