(as the patient),

I was in bed reading and felt pains in my chest. We phoned 999 and was told to take aspirin. Ambulance arrived and I was taken to hospital. After tests, the doctors were unsure if i had a heart attack. I was moved to the cardiac unit and was stabilised. I was sent home to wait for an appointment at jubilee. After a month, I went for an angio for further investigation. I was fitted with a stent and discharged the same day. My paperwork was displaced and I had to wait two months before I saw or spoke to any other medics. In January I saw a cardiac nurse and physio at Crosshouse. Both were reassuring and helpful. I was signed up for keep fit class for 8 sessions, which I have enjoyed. I spoke with a psychologist on the phone and this reassured me. I then had an appointment with the hospital pharmacist at Irvine Central, and she altered one medication and this has helped my recovery. All the medical staff involved have been fantastic and my mental and physical health is improving all the time.

Dear burgundy

I would like to add my thanks to those of my colleagues in NHS Golden Jubilee, for taking the time and trouble to share this lovely feedback about the care provided by the Teams within the Emergency, Medical, Physiotherapy and Cardiology Departments at NHS Ayrshire & Arran.

Yours is a lovely example of different Teams, across the Health Boards working together to provide the patient centred care we always aim to deliver.

When times are challenging, it’s always nice to hear such positive feedback from our patients and it will be my pleasure to share your lovely comments with the wider Teams in all Departments mentioned.

Please accept my best wishes for your ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind regards

Pamela
