"Put my mind at ease"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I had my first Colposcopy, when I say I was a bag of nerves as someone who suffers with severe anxiety, especially when it comes to hospital/doctors appointments.

From the very start Amanda had a big smile and put my mind at ease also allowing my partner to accompany me.

Sindy the out my window at rest explained everything to me and reassured me about the procedure.

Sindy, Clarinda and Amanda then spoke to me though the whole procedure, taking real time to listen and support me.

Thank you so much and although I still left anxious it was with a smile on my face!

Clarinda, Sindy and Amanda will be delighted to know that they were able to support you through your recent appointment.

Many ladies come to us in a heightened state of anxiety and the team work hard to alleviate their worries which in turn makes the procedure less uncomfortable or embarrassing for the patient. I hope that the answers you get after the colposcopy will go some way to reassuring you in the future.

I have informed the team of your kind words!
