"Good practice with some IT/communication issues"

About: Triveni Pms

I have found it very frustrating that they refuse to accept electronic documentation, asking for it to be submitted as printouts. This means I would have to print out the clinic letter, etc., so I can bring them and submit them for them to be scanned again.

Most other GP practices in the area have an email address where patients can submit requested documents. I do not understand why they can not have an email address like most other practices in the Woolwich/Plumstead area where you can send the requested documents. Most people don't have a printer at home, so you are faced with having to pay money to print something only for it to be rescanned.

I've found the doctors very helpful and understanding and have no issue with the timeframe for non-urgent or semi-urgent (i.e. not same day) appointments. However, my frustration regarding the documents has gotten to the point that I have thought about leaving the practice. It feels like there is a simple solution (i.e. follow what most GP practices seem to do - have an email for patients to email documents requested). I don't understand why they haven't done this (I have raised this issue several times over the last 2 years but everything remains the same)

Dear Patient

Thank you for your comment on our NHS Website. I firstly apologise for the frustration caused to you and I do understand your concerns.

I can confirm that Triveni PMS has had a patient email address for over a year now. Unfortunately we do not advertise the email address as the last one that we had was not used appropriately and we had to close it down. Therefore, at present, if a patient needs to send information to us then they should be directed to either the Team Leader, Assistant Practice Manager or the Practice Manager and they can inform the patient of the correct email address to use if the requirement falls within our criteria.

We apologise once again for your frustration and hope that this is now clear. If you require to use the patient email in the future please do not hesitate to contact one of the above.

Kind regards

Triveni PMS
