My story started a few years ago when I was diagnosed with a mactel1, a rare eye condition to have, even more so for a female to have.
I was referred to the Macular Clinic at the Mater Hospital, where I first met Mr Gupta, a wonderfully warm human being and a true gentleman.
Having been told in the past that I would need treatment for my condition for the rest of my life, possibly lose the sight in the eye I had excepted this news.
My first meeting with Mr Gupta resulted in him doing a new lazer treatment which destroys only the fatty tissue and does not leave the patient with a blind spot like the old treatment did.
My second meeting was even more wonderful, as the results left both myself and Mr Gupta with a wide smile on our faces as the treatment was a marvellous success, so much so that I have been discharged from the clinic with the option of contacting Mr Gupta's secretary to make an appointment should I have any issues or concerns in the future.
This man's attitude and warm caring nature towards me made this worrying time bearable.
