Perinatal mental health team-
I was referred early on in my pregnancy however they only made contact during the third trimester. I'm unsure how I was missed. I was allocated a doctor to see 6 weekly for a fixed period, and another staff member.
It was unclear what the purpose (and still is) of the second member of staff's role. Teams catch ups seemed unstructured and the person seemed pre occupied doing other work/typing most of the time. They are now not in work and I have a different temporary member of staff who is more present.
The doctor recommended baby massage which helped me build a connection with my daughter, however all other events (walking group and Easter stay and play) were not communicated with me. I found these events through friends I made at the massage group.
I enjoyed the walk as it gave me purpose and a change of scenery and company for us. The Easter stay and play was brilliant and I wish I had known about the Christmas one.
