(as a service user),

I had been treated for tonsillitis by my GP twice and with no improvement and concerning symptoms I attended CAH A&E. I was met by two Deputy Sisters who kindly redirected me to the urgent care centre.

I was seen very quickly by the GP there and referred to ENT clinic.  I was reviewed by Dr McKenna who diagnosed me and treated my throat. Dr McKenna was kind, comforting and put me immediately at ease.  

I was also cared for my Dr Peter (apologies I forgot his surname) who accompanied me to A&E to ensure I continued to receive timely and appropriate care. Thank you all very much. I experienced amazing care.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the care you received through the Urgent Care Centre.

Urgent Care recently undertook a pilot to screen patients presenting to the Emergency Department, with the aim of directing patients to the most suitable pathway so they could receive the care they needed, in the right place, first time around. We are very glad to hear that, after a challenging time with persistent and concerning symptoms, our Deputy Sisters provided you with an appointment for further assessment in the Urgent Care Centre. We are pleased to hear that you were seen by the GP promptly and referred to ENT clinic, where you were provided with timely and appropriate care.

We are so privileged to have a job where we can care for people and make a difference.

I will ensure the team are all aware of your kind words - we really appreciate them.
