About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Urology

(as the patient),

Recently I was lucky enough to be contacted last minute (due to a late cancellation) for an appointment for my ongoing treatment of Flexible cystoscopy and injection of Botulinum toxin to the bladder (Botox).

These injections are life changing for me and having them under a local anaesthetic literally takes less than 2hrs. (I have only ever paid up to 2hrs in the carpark).  

I do not find the procedure painful just occasionally stings but only for a second.  

The staff at RCHT are amazing and always make me feel at ease and I am home getting on with my day before I know it!

Following the procedure it can be a little stingy but this only lasts one day ☺️

I am glad that we were able to see you at such short notice, as we mentioned at least there is no time to fret and get anxious about the procedure in those circumstances.

I hope the procedure is as effective as your previous treatments and we will see you in the future for repeat procedures.

We hope that stories such as yours will reassure any future patients who may be considering receiving this treatment for overactive bladder.
