"First class treatment from the rehab team"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Rehabilitation Tickhill Road Hospital

(as a service user),

I had a postural drop in my blood pressure which caused me to black out in my kitchen, i fell awkwardly and broke my hip resulting in a hip replacement and lengthy stay in hospital. I got a water infection for having to have a catheter fitted and also caught covid, i had a really rough time.

Once i was responding well to the medication and the antibiotics, i was moved to the Tickhill Road Rehab, Hazel Ward.  I was told it would take up to 6 weeks before i could be back at home, however, with the care i was given from the staff and the physio team, i was home in just over 3 weeks. I have received further rehab care by the teams and have now been fully discharged back to the care of my GP.

I am in my 80s and i can only commend all the teams involved in my rehab. They were lovely and gave me the confidence to return to my normal self. I have a walking stick now but no longer need their assistance in my home, or the walking frames.  I received first class treatment from the rehab team and i cannot thank them and praise them enough.
