"I found the appointment to be really reassuring"

I really appreciated being able to be present with my daughter during her P1 nursing check up. Nurse Karen was excellent and I found the appointment to be really reassuring.

My son, who is now in P5, was in P1 during COVID in 2020/2021. Unfortunately, I was not permitted to be there and there were concerns raised about his hearing on that occasion. I was, of course, grateful to receive a call about this afterwards, but this visit with my daughter just reaffirmed how valuable as a parent I feel it is to be present, to be able to observe the assessment and to ask questions at the time. I also think it is reassuring for the child to have a parent there too.
