"The staff were all so kind and helpful"

About: Western General Hospital / Day Bed Unit

(as the patient),

I recently attended the Day Bed Suite at the Western General for a Colonoscopy procedure. I was very nervous and apprehensive about the procedure before arriving and when at the Unit. The staff were all so kind and helpful and went out of their way to alleviate any anxieties I had about getting sedation for my procedure.

The staff were all kind and gentle and I felt very well looked after. The unit is very well run and efficient and airy which helps when you have anxiety.

Taking the staff's valuable advice, I opted for sedation for my colonoscopy and it went very smoothly and I felt no pain.

Credit to the Surgeon, Mr Clark, and the nurses working alongside him in the room. You are all fab and doing a great job. Thanks so much for making a daunting procedure alot more easier and doable.

Dear Edinburghgirl7

Thank you for sharing your experience while undergoing a procedure at the WGH. Having to attend hospital for procedures can be a stressful time. I’m delighted to hear that your experience was positive and that the team in the Day Bed Unit treated you with compassion, helped support your decision making and alleviated any anxiety.

I will ensure this is passed onto the team.

Kind regards

Gordon
