"Care for my mum"

About: Alexandra Hospital / Older people's healthcare Worcestershire Royal Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My mum fell ill unexpectedly, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Her Mental capacity was up and down, the communication to her family during this time was awful, those 5 weeks she was in two hospitals in the Acute Trust were immensely stressful because of this, one time even being shooed away from the nurses desk when trying to ask for information. Saw a doctor twice maybe, no updates otherwise. The only time we were telephoned about her care was regarding discharge with a complete disregard for her safety. She died in hospital. It has made me terrified of needing care from this trust. I will be asking for clarification when I'm able to as currently grieving.

Firstly I would like to offer my deepest condolence's to you and the family on the loss of your mum in such difficult circumstances.

I appreciate you are currently grieving but have enclosed details of our PALS service where you are more than welcome to raise your concerns.

It is very important that as a Trust we learn from such feedback and would suggest that PALS would be a good starting point for you when you feel ready and able to do so.
