"Disappointed on communication on Discharge "

About: Whiston Hospital

I am really Sorry to be writing this but unfortunately we need to stress how dissatisfied as a family we are regarding our elderly mother and how her discharged was handled during her stay at Bevan court 1. The staff including Health Care Assistants , Hostesses, domestics were absolutely wonderful in which we really

Appreciate. My mother was very

Quickly discharged from the unit and was told not to worry a care

Package for her personal care had been sorted we didn’t have to worry about anything. We were told that Mum would get a visit in the evening to help with her wash and dressing and everything had been put in place for the following day.

Unfortunately that never happened my mother did not get a visit from any team in the evening Or the following day, she was sitting in her nightclothes all day waiting for someone to arrive to do her personal care

again nothing. This is a worry of how often this happens I was told it was miss communication between themselves . This is. Not good enough we totally understand they need the beds but not listening to what the family need help with before discharge is frustrating we did not even get to speak to a social worker or even get to know her name before discharge if any problems.

This is a lovely unit but discharges and communication is very disappointing.
