"Addiction spiralled out of control"

About: Community Services / Hospital Liaison Team

(as other),

Over 20 years of addiction spiralled out of control. I lost partners, jobs, and family members due to this horrific addiction. It recently exploded, and my head had literally fallen off—I had enough of life. But then I came to Scunthorpe Hospital and asked for help.

They took me in straight away and gave me the help I really needed. Great mental health team and great members of staff. If I did not see the sign for this hospital, God knows what I would have done to myself.

It’s still early doors—a long way to go for myself to get better, be a great dad to my children, and just be a normal person.

Thank you.
