I had a letter to attend my ophthalmology appointment at the Nightingale Hospital early April. I got a phone call asking me if i could attend an earlier appointment they day before instead to which I agreed.
I am in my 80s and disabled. I cannot walk very far at all, so I paid for a taxi to take me to the appointment. I got there for them to tell me I was at the wrong hospital and I needed to get a taxi to the Royal Devon and Exeter. I told them i did not have enough money to do that, I had just enough taxi fare to get myself home. They said they would ring the hospital for me and explain the mix-up and that i would be late arriving. I told them to inform them that I would not be able to attend at all that day.
I don't think this is acceptable and i will be trying to ring the hospital for more answers.
