"Professional approach which put both our minds at ease"

About: Accident & Emergency / Children's A&E

(as a parent/guardian),

I had taken my 9 year old boy to A&E @Crosshouse because he had fallen off his bike hurting his arm. Sophie the nurse was great at reassuring him. She made eye contact with my son and spoke to him as well as myself. Very caring, professional approach which put both our minds at ease.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the care provided within the Emergency Department, University Hospital Crosshouse.

I sorry to hear that you required to attend our Emergency Department with your son following a fall from his bike, but I am delighted to hear that you and your son received such prompt, professional and compassionate care, from our staff.

It’s often the small things that can make such a difference, such as taking time to reassure an injured child, and I’m glad that Sophie was able to explain everything in a way that was easy for your son to understand, leading to a positive experience for both of you. This is a lovely example of the patient centred care we strive to provide.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the Team in the Department and with Sophie in particular.

Please accept my best wishes for your son’s ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.
