I have extremely bad neck pain and when I woke on Friday morning I was terrified because I couldn't move my right hand at all and was in agony in my arm. I should have been going to the eye hospital but instead my partner took me to Heartland A&E. I was seen very quickly and when I was called through by the nurse, even though it was only the second time I had been seen at A&E because of my neck, they recognised me and took me straight through to a cubicle so I could lay down. I was so thankful for this because I was in agony. Thankfully as time went on the feelings and movement came back to my hand. The doctor who I saw was a charming gentleman and couldn't do enough for me. He insisted that my specialists appointment was moved forward because of my pain. I was given morphine to help with the pain by another lovely male nurse this time, they the arranged a porter to wheel me out to my partner's car. I was left feeling special as if nothing was too much trouble for them in my care.
