"They reassured both of us"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiac Catherterisation University Hospital Monklands / Renal (Ward 1)

(as a relative),

Transferred to Monklands Hospital from Hairmyres. Procedure angioplasty carried out in Hairmyres to improve blood circulation.

This procedure can affect your kidneys which it did  kidneys were already quite low.Transferred to Renal Ward 1 in Airdrie hospital.

Was really scared and upset.

Ward staff were brilliant especially Allisdair(consultant)  another consultant I did not catch his name.

They both spoke with me on behalf of my sister as she has some learning disabilities to explain everything .

This reassured her and me and I cannot thank them enough

Dear Libby71

Thank you for taking time to post about your positive experience on Care Opinion.

Having any procedure has risks and the fact your sister had to be transferred to another hospital for ongoing care must have been very traumatising and upsetting for her and your family. I am pleased that this turned out to be such a positive experience and that the ward staff and consultants made you feel at ease by giving you all the information you needed. I will ensure your comments are passed on to them all.

Kind regards & best wishes

Alan
