"100% patient centred"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Medical Diabetes and Endocrinology (Ward 6)

(as the patient),

I had a 30-day inpatient stay in ward 6 UHW. This was a very difficult and stressful time for myself and my family as I was quite unwell and required several weeks of investigations and several possible diagnosis with varying prognosis. I had a period of 16 days where I had to be confined to the one room and was barrier nursed. I can say the level of holistic care I received form Junior Doctors ,Nursing Staff and Domestic staff within ward 6  was  exemplary, the atmosphere in the ward from the Senior Charge Nurse to the most junior of staff, was warm, caring and 100% patient centred.

Dear Cob63,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Wishaw, ward 6.

I can only imagine how stressful a time this would have been for you and your family when you had to stay in the ward for 30 days. I can only imagine how worrying the uncertainty of diagnosis would be for you. I am so pleased that all the staff gave holistic, warm and person centred care to you during your stay.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the whole team who I am sure will get a real boost in hearing your lovely feedback.

I hope you are feeling better now.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
