I arrived with my son for my appointment at the Treatment Centre of Birmingham City Hospital, we went to the suggested waiting area and booked in, I was told an approximate time of my Cataract surgery. The staff were All brilliant.
(My cataract surgery was for distance vision)
My Cataract surgery took about 20 minutes without any pain, I was reassured throughout the whole procedure and a eye shield was placed over my eye.
Upon returning to the day care area, I was asked what sandwich I would prefer and drink, I relaxed in a chair and my son was waiting to collect me in the nearby waiting area.
After about an hour I was allowed to go home with instructions how to care for my eye, another eye shield, eye drops, etc.
I felt fine at home, no pain, however I remained indoors for a few days taking it easy really, following the instructions I had and keeping myself occupied, I even watched a movie on the evenings...
My first night at bedtime, I covered my eye with the recommended eye shield, slept in a slight upright position on a V pillow and I had a comfortable nights sleep.
The following day, I was allowed to removed the eye shield and voila my eyesight was incredible..
After about a week at home, I visited my local supermarket, I could see the prices and no cloudy vision either.
My next adventure the day after was to the local park, the colours were amazing and with plenty of benches to chillax on every few minutes I enjoyed my day wearing an oversized hat too.
Iv'e sinced had my checkup at my local hospital and all is fine.
(Looking forward to my 2nd Cataract surgery appointment)..
Thank you Birmingham City hospital. Best wishes xx
