"Couldn't drop off at A&E"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

Tried to drop my neighbour off at A+E. He can hardly walk. The other week I had to bring another emergency in, so I pulled in briefly to A&E bay to allow staff to come straight out to my relative. Now the bay is closed off, so my neighbour had to walk from the drop off point over 250 yards away. There is nowhere to drop emergencies off, and ambulance wait times are two hours - when we are only live a mile away.

So it's hard to get an ambulance, but it's hard to drop off emergencies at A&E. Sorry, but I think it's an absolute nightmare.

Good morning,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your recent experience accessing the Emergency Department drop off.

I have shared your feedback with the Estates team as they are continuously reviewing the access across the site and this will provide an insight into this issue for them to address.

Kind regards,

Aoife Isherwood
