"My Day Surgery"

About: Victoria Hospital / Day surgery

(as a service user),

My experience was for the most part a very positive one.  I was kept well informed as to what was happening by the staff, things were a little behind due to an overflow of bed waits from the main hospital, which, I'm sad to say happens more often than not nowadays.  Everyone was very welcoming, but extremely busy.

My only criticism would be that maybe when asking if someone is okay or needs anything, wait for an answer before rushing off.  I understand the pressures and the business but sometimes that extra couple of minutes makes all the difference.

The theatre staff were friendly and again very informative which in turn kept me calm.  I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the Nursing & Medical staff for taking care of me and ensuring my surgery was the best possible experience.

Keep up the good work, well done NHS Fife ❤️❤️

Dear Painfree50,

My name is Katie Black, I am the SCN in the Day Intervention Unit. Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us about your experience in the unit. I am pleased to hear that you found the staff to be welcoming and informative. I am very sorry to hear that you did not feel listened to when asked if you were ok or needed anything. I will share this feedback with the staff which we will celebrate and learn from.

I hope you are now doing well at home, thanks again, Katie.

Please let me know if you would like to talk further about anything at all by emailing me on katie.black2@nhs.scot
