"I feel let down again by the system"

(as a service user),

I went to the doctors for mental health. I have had mental health issues noted since 2017, with camhs, numerous trips to hospital for self harm and overdoses.

I was referred to you by my doctor. And never heard anything from you till today. I got a plan of care letter stating I was triaged on the early March; I was in Tenerife then and this did NOT happen.

Then on the letter it says you have transferred my care back to my gp. Absolute joke of a service, I’ve had 0 communication from you, no discussions and no secure plans put in place. I’ve been recommended to the talking shop to which I’ve done their courses before and that hasn’t helped, And been directed to the crisis team. Well I know the crisis team is there to eliminate risk. Do you know what mental health is? People can have good days so the crisis team WONT be necessary, and people can have bad days where there can still be no risk, so once again, the crisis team will not be needed. So thank you for your fantastic communication, support and help.

In my opinion, it really summed up your silly system closing my case without talking to me. The doctors wouldn’t have referred me without good reason.. you wonder why people actually hurt themselves, commit suicide… yes I think this is because of systems like yours who fob people off. I hope you read this and understand how angry and let down I feel again by the system. I’m sure many other people who “used your service” saying that very lightly because no doubt they haven’t heard from you either, have felt the same.
