(as a service user),

I feel lost. I was told that my upcoming procedure is cancelled because the Consultant would like to discuss the biopsy results with me, which means I will have to go through three days of fear of the unknown. I think it is mean to do this. They already have the results and they phone to tell you that but you need to wait. I think it is cruel!

I'm so sorry you are left feeling unclear about what is happening. Sometimes original plans can be altered and multiple investigations can be required before the best course of action or treatment is identified for each patient, taking into account their specific clinical needs. We appreciate that the time it takes for this to happen may be long and frustrating, and beyond what one would consider acceptable. We hope that the further discussion you may have now had with your consultant has clarified the next steps for you. If you have further doubts, and you would like further information or clarification, we would strongly recommend that you call the breast care nurses who will be able to talk through your situation with you.
