"Refused to test for UTI"

About: Buckland Hospital

I was advised to go to Buckland Hospital as I had symptoms of an UTI (my GP could not see me in the afternoon). The receptionist at UTC called through to check if I could be seen, but because I have a catheter, I was refused treatment (without any explanation other than I have a catheter). A simple check for a bacterial infection and prescribing antibiotics was all that was needed. I therefore had to wait another day with the worsening infection. I went to Canterbury the next day and this was done without any fuss (they were surprised that I was reused treatment at Buckland).

Thank you for passing on your feedback regarding your recent experience. I am so sorry you was refused treatment and I am also shocked as to why this happened.

Please could you contact me via my teams email address which is ekhuft.patientvoice@nhs.net so we can discuss this further.

I feel this needs to be looked into.

Kind regards

Josh
