"Thank you for your excellent care"

About: Epsom Hospital

My son and I recently took my 9 year old grandson to A&E following a heavy cold and an infection. He was dehydrated and had begun to hallucinate. Although there was a five hour wait when we were seen he was immediately admitted and given antibiotics as his infection was very severe and he was very unwell.

He was met with a most professional team who were kind, careful and very considerate to both my grandson and his mum and dad who took turns to stay overnight. He stayed for five nights as he recovered and it was the most positive experience. He had never been to hospital before and the whole experience was new which could be frightening for a child especially as he was tested and pulled about a bit with medication and hydration delivered intravenously.

You all looked after him so well and with such kindness and it’s like a five star hotel” he proclaimed (not though he’s ever been in a five star hotel) but the message was clear. The experience was very positive for the whole family.

Thank you, we are grateful he was treated appropriately and very swiftly by professionals who were all there for us when we needed them.
