"Broken left wrist and right hand"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Orthopaedic Ward B23 Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Xrays & Scans

(as the patient),

I managed to break my left wrist and right hand while skiing.

Once back in Scotland, I got referred to orthopaedics at FVRH by my local GP service the next day and was admitted into the system via A&E which was all very easy and surprisingly quick.

I had my casts removed by Staff Nurse Nicole and student nurse Lynn, all very painless and went off to x-ray.

After that the consultant managed to manually manipulate by bones back into place without too much pain I was wrapped in plaster once more.

I shouldn’t forget Staff Nurse Heather who has been a constant throughout and greatly helped in providing a relaxing experience at a time of trauma.

My journey isn’t over yet, I’m due back soon, but I’m super confident in receiving the best care and advice from Fourth Valley Hospital.

Please pass on my regards to the team, not forgetting x-ray and the support staff who were quietly going about sanitising the rooms while I was there.

Dear Skier123,

I am sorry to hear of your injury - but very pleased you have revived an excellent service while attending NHS FV for forward treatment. We are always grateful for patient feedback, and I will ensure to pass your lovely comments back to the x-ray team.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery,

Jen
