About: Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care

(as a service user),

Nursing staff couldn't do enough. Meals Great. Conditions in corridors and wards, terrible. Sharing ward with 4 men 1 toilet 1 shower. Disgrace.

Dear woodpigeonph89

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share your experience of the care provided within Ward 3E, University Hospital Crosshouse.

I sorry to hear that you required admission to hospital. I can only imagine how scary and anxious this must have been for you. However, it is reassuring to know that the nursing staff couldn’t do enough for you and that you found the meals to be great. Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients, and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the wider Team in the Ward and with the Catering Department.

Within Ward 3E, the Hyperacute Stroke Unit use mixed sex bays due to the high dependency of the patients there. The staff are based within the rooms to ensure this level of supervision and high care is provided. The ward provide information leaflets to all patients and families to explain this.

Thank you for also bringing our attention your experience of the conditions in the corridors and wards. I can highlight this to the relevant managers, but it would be helpful to have some more information so they can review this to make any necessary improvements

Please accept my best wishes for your ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
