About: St Andrew's Hospice (Lanarkshire)

(as a relative),

My dad has been attending outpatient services within the hospice and my mum has been attending the carers cafe.  I have been  fortunate enough to attend with her on a few occasions when not at work and this has been so beneficial for all of us.

All of the staff are all amazing and so kind. I was even offered a therapy treatment which was absolute bliss.

Everyone seems to have time to listen and talk, they care about their patients and want to help. A far cry from our recent experiences within our local hospital.

It’s so sad to think that the Outpatient services could be under threat due to cuts in the financial support.

Thank you so much for sharing a little about your family story and for giving such wonderful feedback about our services here at St Andrew's Hospice.

It is never easy to need the services that our Hospice can provide so I am sorry that you are in this position; however, it is so good to hear how beneficial and positive your experience has been. Providing support for your Dad but also for your Mum and you matters so much to us. We aim to try to bring as much comfort and quality care and support to you as we can. By sharing your story you not only help us to continue to get things right for people using our services but also for others who may be anxious if referred to a hospice and you feedback will help to ease their anxieties.

I am really delighted that you found our staff to be kind and that you felt listened to. They will be so pleased to hear your comments. Thank you!

I understand and appreciate your comments re funding. It is a challenging time for us here at St Andrew's Hospice but also for all Hospices. We are doing our best to navigate through a difficult landscape. We believe in the value of Hospices and other stakeholders have also assured us that Hospice care and Specialist Palliative Care is highly valued by them so we are very hopeful for the future,
